Cause weed eliminates your REM sleep, which is when you dream. When you stop smoking your sleep cycles bounce back and cause some fucked dreams
Does anyone else have insane dreams on a t-break??

Wait hol the fuckin phone is this why I feel so damn tired all the time even when I haven’t smoked? I thought it was bc of my anemia making me constantly fatigued but if I’m not getting REM sleep that would make a lot of sense

The study that this was found in was pretty small and the numbers aren’t super drastic, by no means does it “eliminate” REM sleep but it can reduce how long you spend in that cycle with longterm use

I’m bout to dunk on y’all, I’m a neuro major and multiple studies show that weed reduces REM, not use one. We know weed affects sleep cycles, and while yes we don’t fully understand sleep there’s multiple studies showing weeds effects in REM

Like yes studies can be interpreted differently but there’s enough papers that show weed=loss of REM that it’s fairly accepted among researchers

The differences between NREM and REM is still a absolutely being determined, but we basically know that weed reduces REM sleep overall
