I got top surgery two weeks ago and yesterday when I went to a post op appointment my nurse said it’s okay for me to smoke as long as it’s not nicotine. You better bet your ass I smoked last night. I haven’t smoked in abt two months so I was GEEEKED

Yeah. Just be careful because thc may inhibit thrombin and may platelet aggregation which is more important to be aware of in gay surgery. Theres nothing wrong with it but it may impact healing

Okay, I’ve never heard that before so I’ll keep that in mind. I don’t plan on using it too much just to be safe. I have a friend who had my same operation w the same surgeon and he had smoked a bit during recovery and he healed perfect and I’ve heard many other trans guys who’ve had similar experiences to my friend, so hopefully I won’t have any issues. If I start to feel or notice healing going awry I’ll cut the use completely.

I have been very safe with my healing thus far tho so I really don’t plan to use thc much at all and I’m sure having that in mind will keep me away as much as possible.

No ur so right! I really appreciate the warning. My family has a bunch of weird ass rare diseases that run around our genetics so I like to also keep that in mind when recovering, but with that being said my aunt has the brunt of those rare diseases and she smokes (medical) like a chimney before and after the many surgeries shes had done and she hasn’t had many issues with that combo.
