Lmao med cards can be really expensive and tricky to get especially if they don’t have the privilege of a good relationship with their medical care team and depending on the situation they may not have a medical need for it to qualify, and therefore shouldn’t apply?

You have to verify college to be on weed yak, I doubt they’re one of the small percents that go to college early

it's like 50 dollars in many states (mine was 45) and is paid off by the taxes you don't pay. Also fuck a medical need, literally lie and say you have anxiety so you aren't stuck with a shitty recreational program

In New York shit constantly gets recalled in the rec program, why would I not lie to get access to a better market

I’ll be fr and say that since I’m not from NY I don’t know a lot about your specifics but whatever medical provider refers you for a medical card can get their licenses revoked and lose their profession pay fines and possibly go to prison (which seems dramatic but they really do take medical billing and documentation seriously if somebody were to get caught), you can pay some very hefty fines, jail time (even prison if the court gets you on some crazy fraud technicalities) I.e. inconvenient shit

And while the med card itself isn’t always expensive having to pay out of pocket (and occasionally if your insurance covers it a copay instead) can really add up especially if people here don’t qualify for Medicaid and with federal funding freezes and cuts on health care and public aid programs acting like people have the ability to easily get all of this done (and have it done quickly at that because you still gotta wait for approvals)

Bro what, all these sites that do telehealth for the 50 dollar card don’t take insurance, insurance is irrelevant here unless your using your real doctor or something, also they can never prove I don’t have anxiety so no one is getting introuble

The sites you’re using are probably area specific so I wouldn’t know specifically about them but no they would most likely not bill your insurance as they are set up for the specific purpose of medical cards but yes you can use insurance with your medical care team at appointments regarding medical marijuana and it’s often a cheaper alternative to these websites but with assistance based services having their funding messed with it’s limits the amount of patients that can afford to apply

Regardless of whether they go through a primary care physician or a specified advertised website they still have to pay for a provider to recommend them for a med card which is an expensive privilege for some people to access

Idk if it’s different for you but in my state NY your only expense is the med card appointment and the weed - for me (and all of nys can go through this) it was 45 dollars a 2 minute phone call and then they emailed me the card a minute later, ready for use. It basically pays itself off after just 350 dollars of product (or like a month) bc the no bullshit 13% tax

In mine ( i got a three year for $125) you go see a medical provider (either your actual doctor or one of those websites similar to what you’ve mentioned Nuggmd is very popular) who then if you’re doing a med appointment about other concerns and bring up the medical card they can certainly bill your insurance or if you make an appointment specifically for a medical card then you have to pay out of pocket whatever that companies fee is mine was $150

So combined it was $275 for me for three years and I can afford that so I’m not complaining but for people who are financially struggling that’s a lot of money, you also legally aren’t supposed to have a med card and own a gun, many aren’t allowed to foster children (I work at a foster care agency I see it a lot) it can affect who hires them and it can take forever to get so while it may have been affordable for you and maybe others in NYC can pay similar rates but not everyone can

But does your state tax on Rec, if so that 275 is probably being made back, I avoid like 200 dollars of tax a month bc I buy for family

Regardless of whether they make it back or not if they don’t have that money to spend as an initial cost they can’t save money later they could go sober and save money until they could afford it maybe, or something else that takes time
