Let’s ban weed, the drug notoriously known for making ppl chill but keep alcohol the exact same, the product notoriously known for majority of dui fatalities and domestic violence cases bc that makes sense 👍

As it currently stands, the new law will effectively ban most hemp products currently on the market by changing the federal definition of “hemp.” The new definition of “hemp” will exclude certain categories of hemp products, such as those containing synthetic cannabinoids or more than trace amounts of THC and other intoxicating cannabinoids.

The hemp ban doesn’t take effect for another year, many republicans who voted in favor did so to re open the government as it wasn’t worth not doing such just because of the language regarding hemp. Many have already spoken in favor of regulation, not a ban, and aim to change the verbiage before the year is up and it goes into effect.

Still doesn’t warrant the fed getting involved in what states already regulate pretty effectively. You’re thinking of personal health, but if we all cared about health no one would smoke/drink/snort/eat fast food/drink soda/etc. All this bill does is close jobs that were created through the farm bill, screw over rural marijuana growers, and inflates the black market again. Yeah I don’t think that’s the case at all. I think what it was is that the current administration had a different purpose for the bill in 2018 and when they saw that people were abusing the law via a loophole to push dangerous toxins, they said we should ban this stuff until more research can be done

upvote -4 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

Yes, we all want regular THC to be legal. But this ban on its derivatives is not a step forward, it’s multiple steps back guy. I’m not being intellectually dishonest by pointing out what will happen if this bill passes. You just can’t accept that this bills adverse effects on the market will bring higher health risks than letting states continue to regulate and research THC-A. Because guess what, when they ban THC-A, NO research can be done

upvote 3 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #9 3w

Why do you want fake shit to be legal is my question? Why not advocate for legal stuff? In my opinion, this is a step forward towards legalizing cannabis. Think about it like this
 if people could get the same effect from THC-A as they could from cannabis, why legalize cannabis? And yes, you were being dishonest because you were claiming something that I never advocated for

upvote 0 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

Because, advocating for the fake stuff IS advocating for the real deal. I live in Indiana, for example, and only have THC-A available in the smoke shops here. It has curbed illegal activity here, and less drug trafficking. It has also decreased the amount of marijuana charges that go in and out of the courts. By this bill occurring, prosecutions will rise, my and thousands of other’s access to marijuana will memorialized, leading to (again) increased black market activity and risk.

upvote -1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

I mean, clearly you don’t know fucking history because historically, when you banned something that majority of people still want they will still get it, but it will be much more dangerous than the original thing they banned. Two good examples are abortions (when it was banned a lot of women were dying) and alcohol (killed people when mating correctly exploded blindness strokes)

upvote 13 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

Yes, there should be more regulation, but banning a not necessarily harmful option is not regulation. This is because many politicians have money in the alcohol business. They are losing revenue and would like to skew that back to them. They can’t make money if the younger generations aren’t buying alcohol.

Which is why most people will advocate for legal stuff. This isn’t rocket science my guy. Why do you think states are starting to legalize it more and more? Only issue with the federal legalization is the immense stress it will put on the water grid, especially CA’s while it’s still in a drought. Everyone will want their weed from CA, which as is experiences hot and intense weather alongside very minimal precipitation and rainfall. Marijuana is a very water-demanding crop too. It’s a problem I have no clue how to address because I agree it should be federally legalized but there would have to be immense restrictions country wide.

Bidens health was in obvious decline for at least a year before then, he was clearly not fit for 4 more years especially since trump is too old for the lefts standard. He didn’t call out, he was coerced out from the inside, more shady shit

U brick how could unbiased news sites possibly exist in “today’s political climate”. You don’t even adhere to your own beliefs consistently, grow a spine. And will your paper be published in a scholarly journal with peer reviews from other phd students?? I spy with my little eye another fallacy, appeal to authority!

I know there’s needs to be, and I didn’t say I agree with how the trump administration is going about deporting illegal immigrants. I did not vote for trump and I explicitly said I don’t like his policies. BUT, I can still say don’t sneak into a country if you don’t want to have the risk of repercussions, constitutional or not.

ok, then at least be correct if u want to try to “catch me in a lie”. everyone gets due process no matter what. doesn’t matter if laws are broken. due process is a right FOR ALL HUMANS ON US SOIL!!!!

Yes but what due process constitutes for each individual is different depending on citizenship status and ties to the country

 no dumbass. That’s what happens AFTER due process. You actually wouldn’t even know for a fact (with the way our judicial system works) if someone is a legal citizen, or an undocumented immigrant until after due process. Because that’s sorta a big part of what due process is. However, you’re clearly dumb as rocks and believe in make believe pedophile (Trump) propaganda

tell me where it says that in the constitution. bc in modern terms, due process is for anyone of US soil no matter what. due process has nothing to do with citizenship. if it did, then technically white people (i am white people) wouldn’t have been able to colonize America.

You’re slow if you think THC-A and cannabis are the same thing. You even said yourself it’s chemically castrated bro. Why smoke fake stuff that we have little research on instead of advocating for real cannabis? đŸ€”

U fucking donut if you lived in a good legal state where they denote ALL cannabinoids on the packaging maybe you’d have an easier time understanding because clearly you haven’t done any research. I only say THCA flower because that’s what it needs to be called to be federally legal hemp, even though it is the exact same chemical product you’ll buy in dispensaries. All cannabis bud is THCA flower, not THC flower, straight THC flower doesn’t even exist.

Clearly you’re the donut. THC-A flower is just hemp that is under 0.3% before heating. That’s not the same thing. You’re just talking out of your ass. If they were the same thing, both would be regulated the same way. Clearly they are not. Maybe read a bit into what your talking about before commenting some ignorant shit you British twat

You know why you have to cook weed in the oven before turning it into edibles? To turn the THCA into THC, because all weed has always been THCA flower, the only difference in the last 7 years is verbiage in the farm bill created a threshold that makes your “hemp” go to straight dispo weed after a 0.001% difference in THCA content. There is literally proof of growers selling the exact same bud in state dispensaries AND shipping it across the country as THCA flower.

When your dispo weed says 24% thc that is a CONVERSION they did because THCA converts to thc at a rate of %87.7/g meaning the THC number you are reading is a solved math equation for the POTENTIAL thc content in your bud, they do that because the vast majority of cannabanoids are THCA before you burn it.
