Just graduated. Quitting weed until I get my own home/apartment as a motivator. Already got a decent job lined up. Now time to save. P.S. wtf is a 401k and Ira and etc. school didn’t teach me this stuff

The IRA was the Irish Republican Army. They fought for the unification of Ireland. Hope that helps🙏

401k is your retirement fund, you definitely want to put money in that. Basically it will be invested in stocks/bonds for you so it grows, and usually your employer will match your contributions up to a certain amount (like 5% your income usually), so I definitely recommend putting as much as you reasonably can in out of your paycheck. A normal 401k is tax free until you withdraw it when you retire, or you could do a Roth 401k which is taxed now so it’s tax free when it’s withdrawn

ROTH IRA is what you want king. Not a regular IRA unless you’re like 40

If you go into your bank (esp if it’s a credit union), most have financial counseling or reviews for free where you can ask about 401ks, iras, etc :)

I would recommend doing more research to decide if a regular vs Roth is best for you, depending on what tax bracket you expect to be in when you retire

Isn’t Roth IRA vs normal Roth different with tax deductibles and shit like that?

One is taxed when you contribute, the other is taxed when you withdraw
