Personally I think that there’s a lot of AI conservative bots on all of yak now, been seeing them in a lot of communities but the things they’re saying never make any sense
Yo wtf is up with all the nasty people in here recently??? I’ve had to block multiple people in the past two days bc of homophobia (during pride month 😱), weird random nasty comments on my posts, and the usual scammers

incoherent AI and dumb conservatives have a lot of overlap too so it’s a mix of both

It would be lowkey too hard and not worth to build a yikyak bot, you’d need to setup a mitm proxy and reverse engineer the api

But once you do it once you can have as many bots as you want, right? (This I not my field)

Yes but there’s also the aspect of maintenance and downtime for api changes breaking things, paying to get new accounts -voip numbers don’t work - it turns out there’s a reverse engineer for getting yikyak on android but it does have some missing features

I wouldn’t be surprised if the bots are coming from a single source who can afford to constantly keep the model running This is all kinda speculation, but the republicans party has shown how much money it’s willing to put into running bot farms (X) so I wouldn’t be surprised if they were doing the same thing here

I guess it’s totally possible being that a 3rd party yikyak app exists, It’s just that it makes sense to spread propaganda on a platform that’s actually popular - and has more documented api reverse engineering (twitter and Reddit used to be free but now I can’t think of any brands with a free/open api in 2025) - instead of yikyak
