baby witch here! i want to try to set up an altar. what should i put/not put on it, things to avoid, etc? i always want to learn more, so if you could send tips or ideas, that would be awesome!

Always clean it and make sure you’re not honoring 2 people or things on one and mixing up what they want or like

It really depends on who the alter is for. Typically the basics you’ll see are crystals, water, food items, flowers, tarot cards, and statues but again it all relies on the reason or person it’s for!

same w/ the rest of the comments, really depends. there’s not a “right” and a “wrong” thing to do, but you should also use your head and your heart. i’d utilize esp things that feel important to you and your practice. i read signs from nature, so i have natural things i’ve scavenged like a dove feather, a wasp nest, dried dandelions, and a shed antler. i also have crystals, a spoon from my witch friend, my wisdom teeth; there’s plenty of ways to honor who you’d like to!

i even put my graduation tassel on it for a month after i graduated to thank my guides/ancestors for watching over me during my degree 🙂‍↕️
