Tarot is one of those things that you get better at the more you practice. Male witch here as well and I can say the more you get to know your cards and the more you use them, the more in tune with them you will be and the more you will be able to memorize them. Also a good tidbit is trust your cards and your cards with trust you with their knowledge, I learned that the hard way

Do a tarot pull daily or weekly to keep in practice, one card pull or a full spread, whatever you’re up for in the moment

All of this! Also a great way to bong with your cards is to sleep with them in or near your bed
