I agree. The whole team is frustrated because he starts several tasks and leaves them all half finished most of the time and somehow ends up with hours of overtime yet then he turns around and gets on our asses about finishing tasks before starting new ones. He tells me one thing one day then tells me I’m not supposed to do that the next day then gets upset that I go “over his head” when a manager asks me a question instead of him. We had high hopes for him but he’s just become a hypocrite.
perfect opportunity for you to step up and take a spot. Make note of it document. Tell his boss tell him what you’re doing as you’re doing it let his boss know and even say to his boss “hey so so assigned me do these tasks and I finish them. I don’t see him around, I know these tasks need to be done and so I’ll do them. Is there anything else you’d like me to do while I’m here asking?”
That’s been the move for a couple months but just so our team doesnt drown while I’m on it. I don’t like the department (unprofessional managers/in general) so I’ve applied for a different position already. Last time I tried the manager didn’t want me to be “taken from them when they need people“ but that shouldn’t be up to them if I’m not happy there. 😫
