My boss walked a new hire around and asked me and my coworkers to give him advice. Mine was “Don’t hesitate to explore new opportunities.” Did I mean that as “Gain skills and try new things” Yes. Did I mean that as “Get the hell out of here” Also yes.

My first real interaction with one of the contracted employees at the job I just left was him telling me that I’m probably the smartest actual employee that the company has and to do with that info as I wish…I was literally the lowest ranked person and he wasn’t wrong
