the nonprofit I work for asked all staff’s thoughts on us using AI. almost everyone said they don’t like nor use it EXCEPT the higher up execs. they also just got a HUGE grant and now they’re pushing AI-initiatives funded by this grant ughhh

for additional context, they asked all staff about this BEFORE they announced getting the grant and the details of it… so they know that staff doesn’t like AI and we don’t think it should be a priority (we have more important initiatives) and then they proceeded to announce 2 days later that we’re ramping up how AI can “help” our field 🙃

Because staff thinks it’s poor implementation of AI? Partly, but also 1) most current applications of AI are immoral and 2) said applications directly contradict and are irrelevant to the mission of the nonprofit that we work for, making it even more futile to pursue with this grant money
