it’s not legal. employers are required to pay the reduced tip credit wage and if that plus the employees balance in tips is less than the standard minimum wage, the employer is required by law to make up the difference. you could file a complaint with the federal department of labor’s wage and hour division or a similar entity at the state level, depending on where you are.

It’s not. When a service worker doesn’t make at least minimum wage with their tips+hourly rate, then their employer is suppose to cover the rest to make it equal to minimum wage. So maybe you can sue them or something I’m not a lawyer

That’s not really your problem that’s what a 2 week notice is for. If they aren’t paying you a fair wage you need to look out for #1
