i’m not disagreeing, but you have to have some level of perspective. 67% of americans live paycheck to paycheck. it’s not that they don’t want to travel abroad — they can’t afford to. i’m childless, don’t have pets, don’t have subscriptions, I don’t eat out, etc. and my bills are still over $2200/mo. I make more than double my state’s min wage and still can’t afford health insurance. any recreational travel that isn’t a carefully-planned day trip is out of the question

I work two jobs and still don’t have enough money to take time off from work to spend a weekend on the other side of the state let along other fees involved like gas, food and lodging. Traveling abroad is not even on my radar
