90% of the applications I’m reviewing don’t have the cover letter we asked for. I also think cover letters are dumb, but I literally have to throw out the application if it’s missing. This sucks

Just call them and be like “yo ur resume is baller and id love to get you in but the requirements for the position is a cover letter can you send me one?

I’ve worked in healthcare for the past year and the same position at different hospitals have NOT required one

I end up writing a new cover letter for almost every job. It’s so time consuming that I’m just making stuff general enough to switch company name/ position and other small stuff
