i’m not allowed to ask if they’re teacher/military so i only give it if they ask if we have it or say they’re teacher/military…i used to be allowed to ask but our sales were going down and the healthcare and law enforcement workers would get upset that they didn’t get a discount so my manager told us to stop asking 🫪

We gave military discounts at work (with certain qualifications) and most of them were so rude and whiny I hated them

my job doesn’t offer senior/military/teacher discounts but whenever an crotchety grandma or rude military guy asks for it, I always chuckle and say we don’t have that here and more times than not they get so butthurt that we don’t offer it. Like the entitlement is HUGE lol

sometimes i’ll “forget” to check their rewards account tho if they’re being difficult or rude but most of the times they don’t even have any rewards so it doesn’t matter 😭

I’m in EMS lol and in my state we get paid worse than teachers.. so it’s always a bit silly to me when there’s a teacher discount but no EMS discount. Obviously, I never say anything, and have huge respect for teachers as well, but pls I’m broke 😭
