Qatar literally kidnapped people from other countries to use as slaves to build the stadiums, and FIFA never said a word. They’ve always been corrupt. Everyone knows this

This is why soccer is lowk frustrating to watch. I feel like 99% of penalties and fouls are entirely accidental. People will just be going for the ball and happen to hit the other dude, and because there can’t be any protective equipment, it’s always gonna hurt

Well I take that back. There can be equipment, and there already is, but it obv can’t ever be full coverage like other sports

That’s actually what FIFA cites as the reason why the card was overturned. Apparently it’s against VAR rules to use slow-mo to establish intent and determine severity of an incident. What slow mo is for is establishing location of the foul. The ref had the call right to start, no red card, maybe yellow, and VAR didn’t follow the rules. Now, is that maybe a cop-out for Trump giving infantino a call? Maybe. Either way this sport has always and will be corrupt as fuck.

Sounds like it’s a big mess just like the current NCAA “targeting” rules in American football

And targeting is basically a red card equivalent in American football apart from the team having to play down a player
