buddy its the winning penalty kick so they were clearly precise enough. And the post isnt saying power is all that matters, they are saying that people often overlook womens sports due to men being naturally stronger, but the gap is a lot smaller in some sports than some people realize
There are plenty of female soccers that can compete at the level of male soccer leagues, whether thats MLS, Premier League, etc. Sure none of them are quite at the level of all time greats like Messi or Ronaldo, but how much of that is quantity bias, and how much of the remainder is a strength bias?
And what the fuck kind of response even is “who cares?”. There are absolutely better male soccer players, but you aint one of them. By your logic nobody should care about you or any shit you’ll ever do because there will always exist someone who does it better, because aint no way you are the pinnacle of anything.
Incorrect, a professional male footballer will be able to use both power and precision for spot kicks. They may opt for a preference and choose one or the other based on their ability e.g. a defender may choose power because they don’t take penalties all that often and feel that if they hit the ball hard enough they can beat the keeper.
Also it’s a mental game, can you keep your cool under pressure, is this a cup winning penalty, can you shut out the screaming fans, can you keep out the negative thoughts your fans will give you if you miss? What will the media say if you miss? What horrible thing will people say about my family if we lose?
which is why its neat to see that the winning pk was faster than last seasons premier league highest. Strength is the primary difference between men and women’s soccer, yet you only like to point that out when its convenient. Its not like the pk lacked precision. Nor is it 1:1 equivalence but its no less interesting or impressive
