Hey so if you’ve NEVER PLAYED THE FUCKING SPORT, you don’t get a say in who the greatest player is since you have ZERO EXPERIENCE. That’s the exact issues we’re facing with coaches who have never played and are analysts.

brain dead take lmao, this doesn’t apply to any other sport. Simply playing the sport doesn’t make you more qualified to compare the achievements of the players at the highest level. You have equal experience winning a prem title to me so what makes you so qualified to speak on the challenges at the highest level

choosing a goat is as simple as watching sports. I’m a little confused on your thought process. Especially since the coach/analysts thing is a separate convo from the goat one. I think you’re a little dummy.

It literally does. If you’ve never played you don’t understand the mechanics of the sport.

I’m an all state varsity soccer player and have played against college and pro players. I think I have a better idea that you do

If you don’t understand the technical mechanical aspect of a sport you can’t comment on the difficulty or expertise of it.

i’m an all state wrestler currently competing in college and like literally any other sport there are people that watch thousands of hours and have seen the sport for years who understand it and can speak on it. I’m not saying people who haven’t played should coach but there’s room for pundits with player experience and without. The UFC’s best commentator Jon Anik never fought or trained.

understand the intricate mechanics of the sport is absolutely a requirement to play it, but not at allll required to compare career accomplishments. I beg you, please tell me how knowing how to lock your ankle when striking a ball makes you better at comparing one player’s career to another? Knowing the level of difficulty of the different competitions and the style of football played by the different leagues is a completely different region of knowledge. Playing soccer alone doesn’t teach it

But if you’ve never played basketball but watched it your whole life you would understand the game and be able to choose a goat for said sport

And those people who watch a sport but never play it have no place to comment on who’s the best. I wrestled in middle school does that make my credible to speak about who the greatest wrestler is of all time? NO cause I haven’t played it at a level where I actually know what it takes to do the sport. So why is somone who doesnt have the experience do the job? You’d never hire a plumber who’s only ever watched plumbing videos lol

If you don’t understand what it actually takes to scam the field and strike the ball and defend a player who’s sprinting at you then you can’t comment on who’s better at it. When you don’t actually know how to strike a ball for a through ball or cross you’re not qualified to say who’s better at creating chances because you don’t know how it works.

you wouldn’t hire a plumber who’s only watched plumbing videos in the same way you wouldn’t sign a soccer player who’s only watched soccer. Doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it. If you had watched every ncaa season and olympics/european/asian international wrestling tournaments then i would absolutely hear out your opinion on the goat. It could be total nonsense, but that’s on you to back it up by citing their accomplishments and why they make them the goat

but i’d definitely take his word for it if he told me the GOAT pornstar 😭 someone with more experience might disagree because of an anecdote but it’s the same as sports. Everyone’s got an opinion and how valid it is depends on how convincing of an argument you can make

But who would you listen to more, somone who’s actually come in contact with pros and has an entire life worth of playing the game(in the porn industry) or a mf who sits at home watching the games(gooning)
