I mean the nations league was created so that players would actually play in friendlies and take them serious so they created the nations league in 2018 to get more revenue off of friendlies and make European friendlies a little more competitive and glorified (and make money)

the way it was created does not take away from the skill and contribution needed to win the tournament. We are talking about regularly facing arguably some of the world's strongest countries just to be able to compete, not a sidemen charity match. Only losers and people who have never won anything will make excuses when someone else wins because that (or any other) trophy is a symbol of success.
