Do y’all ever get an idea for a good story but you tell yourself you can’t write it yet until you finish the one you have been procrastinating on and instead of finishing to work on the one you wanna write you just don’t do anything with it?

Yes, and my solution thus far has been to have multiple different stories in progress at a time, so if I get stuck or burnt out on one, I work on the other(s) until I come back full circle. I have my main Big Project, then maybe a fun fanfic or two, and if all else fails, short stories and poetry.

Yessss it’s such a pain. I’ve been really committed to staying monogamous for my big writing project just because I know nothing will get done otherwise. I do usually have a bunch of short form (500-5000 words) projects going to suppress the urges
