Wow after four years of working on one novel, I’m finally getting around to taking pinterest’s advice and rewriting the entire thing while referencing the original draft :) wish me luck 🤞 i really hope to make some progress over the summer.

How is that going so far? Have you found the rewriting to be easier or harder than working on the same doc?

Suprisingly easier. When editing on the same doc I would get way too attached to how I had already written it and it would basically stay the same with a few words different

I feel like it would be easy to just copy what you have onto the new doc. How do you go about using the original as a reference?

Oh yeah so i have the screen “split” so one side of the screen is the original and the other side it my revised version so i can see them both at the same time. I do tho often just write down word for word what i originally had, but having a blank doc lets me reform paragraphs much easier than just editing
