i looove dialogue. i’m bad at descriptions and showing but dialogue just comes naturally to me. probably thanks to all the tv i’ve watched

I’m the opposite, I used to make up stories in my head when I went to sleep and most of it would be the visual aspect so I’m good at scene descriptions but not dialogue 😔

I’m the same way and I love script writing bc you don’t have to give a lot of description and can focus on the dialogue more

i think a good way to check your dialogue is to say it out loud to yourself. ask yourself, “do i sound like an actual human being or a disney channel character?” also imo ellipses are your best friend. i know how it sounds but it’s the best way to indicate someone has paused rather than using an em-dash
