Or the people claiming that she’s not a mother because she hasn’t given birth yet, it’s fucked cause if motherhood starts at birth any mother who had a miscarriage is denied motherhood, motherhood starts the minute you decide to be a mother and are given a child to love, from conception or adoption even (not to say life begins at conception but a mothers love may begin then if that’s what she feels)

So the kid is TECHNICALLY by definition a bastard. A child of unmarried or divorced parents is a bastard. Probably why it's falling out of use as an insult since so many people now qualify as one. It used to be highly looked down on (basically "your moms a ho" ts) but now it's pretty tame if you actually know the meaning. So they're not wrong tbh. Just shrug it off or get married before having the kid.
