I feel like “slut” is gender neutral these days 🤚
the fact there are so many insults implying women as “whores” and “sluts” when men are more likely to have casual sex and are generally more sexually promiscuous than women in most large-scale surveys

it definitely can be but it’s not really about the word itself it’s more about the fact that it’s “cool” amongst men to have casual sex with many women to where it’s seen as trashy for women to do the same

Personally I use whore as a genderless term as in “man whore, human whore, girlie pop whore”

It’s gender neutral but it’s used more often when referring to woman

I reserve “bop” for women but any other similar term is on the table for boys

as a man, i think it’s fair to call women slurs if you also call men sluts

it’s only fair to slut-shame men too 🤝

Well I think that it doesn’t carry the same level of shame though. Body count matters a lot more as a woman whether it should or not.

bragging about your high body count equates to announcing that you’re used up & ran-through, no sex or gender is safe

But the very fact that you have to add the part “man” to it means it doesn’t apply to both. Whore and slut don’t carry the sane weight for men as women. You can use it, sure. But it’ll always hit harder if you call a woman a slut vs a man

agreed 100% it has historically been used as a legitimate insult to women, it’s just really recently started being turned around to be used on men, and even then like you call a man a slut and people laugh and go “yeah! manwhore!” but if you call a woman that its often considered to be a much worse thing publicly. This comes from the long history of men not being shamed for being promiscuous, but women being shamed by both genders for it.

while I agree with you, in society people focus WAY more negative energy on women for having high body counts. Literally I had to stick up for this one girl on my campus (wasn’t even super close to her), because men were hardcore slut shaming her. When i pointed out men do the same, they got all defensive and pretended like they were just “stating facts”.
