So we’re on a trip that includes middle schoolers to adults. Me and the friends are in our 20s. The leaders of the group are saying how if you’re under 18 you need to be with an adult to explore and they’re like “Op is our trusted adult” like NO nope
I don’t want to be the responsible friend anymore. I’m always the one having to remember the room keys and make sure they bring their chargers, water, plug stuff in, etc. “oh I turn off my brain when with friends” yeah think about the friend whos with you

That’s bs. You are on the trip as a guest not a chaperone. You should not be held responsible for other people’s children. If something were to happen they could hold you liable and that is not what you signed up for nor is it a risk you should have to take.

Dude they aren’t even a child. They’re a few months younger than me. Some of the children are more responsible

OHH your friends are the acting like you’re their chaperone. Sorry I misinterpreted and thought you were upset that the middle schoolers got assigned to adults. Yeah you’re valid still. Your friends should be able to remember their own items and their inability to do so shouldn’t be your problem to solve. If turning off their brain is their way of enjoying the trip, fine, but they shouldn’t allow it to hinder your ability to enjoy the trip too.

Haha yeah you’re good. I don’t mind watching some of the kids on the trip as long as it’s not for hours, most of them are pretty respectful. There is a wide age range on the trip tho which is why we’re on it as well
