you can always tell who has never worked a customer service job in their life by how they treat food service workers
Went to all you can eat sushi and a table of 8 guys across from us ordered two giant boats of sushi right before the kitchen closed and got their food 15 minutes before they closed. They thought it was so funny but I was mad for everyone working

One of the worst people to customer service workers I’ve ever met in my life is actually a bartender. She thinks it’s okay because she perceives the person she’s being rude to as “worse at the same job” basically. Unfortunately, working in service does not guarantee empathy for people in the same sector.

What are you trying to say? It’s “wrong” to enter a restaurant within an hour of closing time or something? Because I think that’s crazy. I also think it’s crazy when people who work in restaurants and bars act like it’s abnormal and rude to tip anything less than like 50-100% of the bill. Just because YOU want to impress people and you think they’ll come and see you when you’re working and repay the favor doesn’t mean your friend the schoolteacher owes anybody a life changing tip just for…

…taking an order and bringing food to the table. It’s insane. And if the sign says they close at 8:00pm,then it’s always okay to walk in at any time up to 8:00pm and ASK if there’s still seating for dinner. They can always say no, and there’s no reason to be so overly paranoid about inconveniencing the staff. They’re there to make money. You just don’t owe them your life for serving food late. It’s just dinner. Jesus Christ, people.
