you can choose to view it that way, makes the guilt easier to live with, i get it, but it doesn't erase the systemic oppression that was built by your ancestors. that's like a white person telling a black person they aren't a victim of the generational trauma that slavery and segregation caused.

💀 no matter what you try you don’t be able to convince me to feel guilt about what someone else did. Well here’s the problem with that. Legal slavery ended over 150 years ago while segregation was far more recent. But yes if they were born 1 generation or more after slavery or segregation they aren’t victims of slavery or segregation but instead a form of oppression which is more relevant to them

Yeah well ofc there is always a cause which has a cause etc etc forever. But yeah I like to use a more time relevant event. That’s like saying victims of WWII are also victims of WWI because WWII was caused by WWI despite them being 2 different events. But back to the main topic I’m still waiting for an actually valid reason why we our guilty for something our past generations did?
