I’ve found a lot of people, both men and women, get offended when I say that I want a girl who’s either a high earner or independently wealthy. I just want someone who can support the lifestyle I want to live with me if that makes sense. Is that rude?
Why are there so many guys who want a “traditional” girlfriend who cooks and cleans, but they don’t want to be a traditional boyfriend and provide? I just don’t understand how so many men could have such an expectation

It comes from a place of privilege. This is a college app with mostly college aged kids making normal college level money, aka minimum wage. If you’re “independently wealthy” at 22 it’s bc your parents are wealthy and set you up for easy success. Many people do not have that and have to work a HELL of a lot harder for a lot less money. I care about someone’s character and determination, not the number in their bank account.

Not rude. I didn't work so hard to squander it on supporting an able bodied, able minded partner. Get to work unless you have a good reason not to lol. I want a wife, not a daughter

Totally valid! Me too man! If my future wife is bringing in the same or more than me, THATS GREAT! OUR household will thrive!

But if a woman said the same thing about a man there would be significantly less outrage.

But in the op’s original comment he says he gets the offense from others.
