I get scared to go in comments of stupid bait posts like those especially if it regards women’s autonomy or patriarchal standards bc you get stupid pro life ppl in the comments arguing down everyone else

Same! It’s insane to me that they don’t believe a father is important at all. I understand that some people don’t have fathers, but that was never the point being made. Like how does wanting paternity leave make me racist? Wild

i have no factual evidence to back this up but i have a suspicion that men who want to take parental leave also probably want to be an active participant in their kids lives even when they are older. like i didn’t “have” a dad growing up because he was always working and i wonder if that would’ve been different if he got to take time off to actually be apart of my life

Did your dad provide for you in anyway since he was always working

financially yes, but we had no relationship outside. i sincerely blame capitalism for forcing to him to decide between being able to provide for me or having an actual relationship with me. also when i mean always working, i mean there were times i didn’t see my dad for months and when he was home it was only for a few days at a time

^also my first comment may be misleading in the context of my second one, but my father’s job did not have paternity leave

Thats a bold assumption. Can you back it up with evidence?

why not? lmao who cares? if you don’t like my guess as to the results of the poll then you’re free to ignore it

my assumption is based off the fact that most women would love for a man to be an involved dad and still get paid. the only reason that makes sense why they wouldn’t like that is if they just didn’t like that he was a dad in general.

It’s for the child too. I don’t even want kids and I can understand how helpful it would be. Let mom heal, dad can take care of the kid
