OP in order to prove yourself, when you get a job you should actually keep the job, have great attendance and good work ethic for a good duration of time. What you suggested was quite literally slavery and for what exactly?

My problem is that every job (not counting gig work) I had except two I lost. I was laid off. These were either holiday positions. They were temporary, or I was laid off because of reasons like they ran out of work for me to do or The business was shut down entirely. And it was hard for me find jobs quickly. So I have huge gaps. And my neurodivergence makes me picky about jobs. So it’s hard to get the jobs that suit me.

So this makes what you're trying to do even more confusing

I feel I could get the jobs I want if I could get the opportunity to prove myself. But no one else will give me a chance because of my employment history.

I mean....yeah? But what would a trial period necessarily do? And if we apply actual logic to this a job might start trusting you months later not 30 days. Thats why most places have a 3-6 month probationary period so they know you can be trusted to not quit or not show up or any other misbehavior

The idea is the reduce the financial risk to the employer to make them more willing to give me a chance.

I mean, would you feel more comfortable trying something new if you had the opportunity to “try before you buy” especially if you felt there wee some red flags?

And your idea is not only slavery but theres already a LEGAL way for you to prove yourself is what I am saying. Also an employer isn't worried about the pay its the risk of bringing someone in who they have to train and they become unreliable. You also think your the only person affected in this situation but its the people above you affected as well if you end up being a bad employee

I have actually considered that. Which is why one idea I had is that I would promise that if I get fired for being a bad employee, and they get fired for hiring me, I would create a go fund me campaign for them.

Also with your second reply you're not necessarily a mystery. Considering your work history already if you were a new pastry for s bakery to try to bake and sell but you already had a bad rap in terms of the taste and the texture why would anyone try to consider selling you to their customers, wasting time and money in hopes that you would sell
