Dude is prob the reason why women in stem HATE being in it. It was always men like OP that made me hate going to class bc it was always like “why didn’t you major in psych or something”, then turn around and say “why do women pick the low paying majors” as if healthcare isn’t the most needed and in demand career there is. The better question is why don’t men pick those careers
Ppl act like gender flight doesn’t exist. I work in accounting n there’s a lot of women who work in my field. It’s around 50/50 with the staff but it’s maybe 5/95 for who have made it to partner. It’s a decently paying field, but at least be aware of the fact that 30yrs ago it wasn’t as a diverse field
Also important to note that when women first entered the workforce, they were limited in the jobs available to them. The influx of new applicants meant that employers could offer lower pay and still fill their ranks. Hence, lower pay as women enter the job. Could it be that predominantly female jobs are lower paid BECAUSE of the many women working there?
