her website says that she like "writes for victims" or something, but there are so many better ways to show them that their trauma hasn't ruined them

This is what dark romance has become. 85% of the popular “dark romance” books I see on TikTok have some sort of romanticization of SA and grape.

I see what you are saying. I've distanced myself from that type. To me dark romance I a lowkey broody/ dangerous but not in any way to the main character. Like dangerous but with morals.

I think the main bad thing is that these normalize these horrible actions and call it romance
