It’s literally just misogyny but they’ll try to twist it every way possible to act like it isn’t. Often internalized misogyny too. Especially when no one has this conversation about any other genre.

Saying “criticizing romance = misogyny” implicitly assumes romance is a uniquely female genre that women can’t handle criticism of, which is itself a gendered assumption.
