1st person always gives bad wattpad x reader fanfic to me. Maybe most popular first person books are poorly written but it’s so rare that I find one that actually does it well.

Like have a preference, that’s fine! No hate if you like one over the other. But reducing like half of literature to bad fanfic feels narrow.

Op here! I said “to me”, though I haven’t found may 1st person books that have been good these days. Definitely not saying that all 1st person is wattpad cringe, just a lot that has been popularized/published recently is really poorly written imo.
