As a dyslexic who probably reads half as fast as the normal person but enjoys books. Why on earth would I commit double the time just to consume a book through a different medium that I won’t even absorb as well? Audiobooks are a great solution for many😤

Thank you so much for this. Sometimes feel like I’m fighting toxic assholes alone out here. Especially when they ask an “innocent question” that gets tons of likes before they start posting vile shit in the comments.

“but it’s a verb and words have different meanings” yeah and those meanings change. that’s how language works. unless you’re in a context where you need to be precise (I’m thinking like teaching or research or something) then it shouldn’t matter whether someone says they’ve read an audiobook unless you’re being elitist, classist, or ableist
