The others just lack the build and fundamentals that make a good slow burn romance story. Everything happens way too fast and lacks the plot to make the relationship feel well earned and satisfying. With a plot focused romance, I feel like the relationship should just not happen in the first book, and interactions between the characters should be meaningful. Show not tell always. Just my opinion but the other books I stated in my “no” section (aside from Alchemised ofc) just don’t do this.
