Is it just me or do you guys physically push through a book you hate just because you want to give it a chance and not DNF it?

It was so ass and people kept saying “oh it gets better when the dragons show up” It did not, in fact, get better. The dragons deserve a better book. And I WANTED to like it, I gave it the benefit of the doubt so many times and it failed me. I was so upset by the writing and obvious lack of editing.
