“Broken” weapons and mechanics are inherently a dual edged sword because while the players can have fun with them, the DM can then ramp challenge up respectively.
I’ve only ever just been a participant in games never really looked to deep into the lore but why are there so many futuristic weapons in the handbook like antimatter rifle does the actual lore go into the future or is it just extra toys for dms
Plus if the players get access to the crazy futuristic gear, who said the enemies don’t?

Or if the players get crazy broken abilities, maybe the enemies can get a bit more damage… like players having a domain expansion but some enemies have d100 damage dice… that was hilarious
