I didn’t mean for this to be rude! I asked this on the ask men and COD threads and had no advice, and my male friends just tell me to “do better.” I also had no idea this community existed because I don’t play games; my bf has it so I started playing
I don’t really play games a lot I just started playing COD and more so need advice since men don’t provide it as much (except my bf but he knows me in person vs a stranger so this is different input) lol. Please help me!!

It takes time, nobody’s good immediately. To speed things up (assuming youre on pc): look at the stability of your wrist, aim for the head, use aim training games and softwares (aimlabs is a good one), and play quick matches like TDM or FFA where the only goal is to kill. Dont frustrate yourself but do chip at it daily, practice makes all the difference, it’s muscle memory

Absolutely it takes time. Just keeps trying and find some friend groups online which makes it so much more fun to play and they will help you get better. I have a great friend group I play with.

The cool thing about playing cod is that there are many ways and modes to play! Im also a gal that was atrocious at cod when I first got into it in 2024 but slowly improved. I humbly recommend trying Modern Warfare III’s zombies mode. It is PvE so all the players work together and it is by far one of the friendliest modes. I started with MWIII zombies and later moved on to the PvP extract shooter DMZ mode in MWII when I was ready. Overall, take your time and as always, have fun!

Although if you’re not on pc, there is aim assist in settings, enable that if you haven’t everyone does lol it helps just a little. Get good at tracking and make sure youre in a comfortable position it really does change how you play

My bf has helped with settings a bit and I play around a lot, I more so just have no idea what I’m doing and just practice a lot. I have very bad eye/hand coordination and it’s slow because I’m on medications that slow down my brain activity so that affects it so I play offline to help practice, it’s more so online where I have a lot more issues because they’re more experienced and the insults get thrown around a lot (even when I get better scores overall than them)

I do my best at tracking, I just always get killed by people who are in ghost or helicopters. I try to shoot the helicopters down and that also affects my death count because you can’t use a rocket launcher in a building so I’ll have 25 deaths and majority of them are from doing that because I’m in the open in order to do it

I totally hear ya with the meds and the insults- as much as it sucks try to interact as little as possible with them, they’ll only bring down morale. And my only advice to that is try and learn the foot traffic areas for each map and be mindful of location and maybe try out diff playstyles- if the meds slow you down, dont rush in and do fast attacks maybe hang back and do more recon or tank style to minimize unnecessary deaths, play off your teammates who do rush

I normally try to play defense with capture the flag. Normally with domination I just try to get flags for points. I don’t interact with them a lot, I’ve actually had it where they were telling me to leave the lobby and I never did and after a while the server closed, but one time a guy was complaining about our ENTIRE team and I said that we were “too busy f-ing his mom” and he quit shortly after. I think it’s more so funny when I was the final kill and they didn’t say anything 😂

My bf has friends he plays with but they’re a higher skill than I am so I feel like it would be weird if I play with them? Plus I don’t want to bring down scores or make everyone die because I suck lol. He’s trying to get me my own controller soon so we can play together.
