I’m asking because I’m genuinely curious, but at what point during pregnancy does the baby all of a sudden become human and why is that where the line is drawn?
My (apparently) hot take: abortion is always justified, no matter the circumstance

wdym? the fetus is always human. that just doesn’t override a pregnant woman’s autonomy

It’s always human, doesn’t mean abortion should be banned

idk if there should be a line drawn when the baby is in the womb tbh and i simply say that because sometimes women who have a miscarriage much later during their pregnancy need to have an abortion or go through a still birth for their own safety 🤷‍♀️ so to me its always been a human, cause its still a human fetus, but at no point should abortion be seen as morally wrong cause its a case by case type of deal 🫪🤌

Secular humanism would say that a fetus gains moral consideration when it has the capability of sentience with the necessary brain structures - which is typically 24 weeks. at that point, an abortion is oftentimes just induction of labor. there’s too many people who assume abortions automatically mean killing the fetus when that’s not true, it’s just terminating the pregnancy.

Sure, but at what point does it carry the same value as a normal person that’s not in a womb?

I’m more asking at what point of development does abortion become morally wrong because there has to be a line for it somewhere

When it’s developed enough to survive outside of the womb without complications

So essentially when it’s ready to be born And if anyone’s aborting around that stage, something must have gone seriously wrong, those are typically the women who actually wanted to have a baby

when it’s born. you answered your own question lol, it becomes the same as a person not in the womb… when it’s not in the womb
