I got disinvited from a trip that was originally just supposed to be for me and my bf and turned into his mother and brother coming. The reason I got disinvited is cus apparently the place we were going only allows 3 guests to a room

It also sounds like he was basically guilted into taking his mom and brother, he lives with them and understands they have a influence on him that’s hard to break from due to his living situation. He’s more aware of it now though, something I don’t think he was aware of at the time (cont. 2)

I’m glad you have this worked out but I’d keep an eye on this moving forward. This could just be a one-off thing but the concept of inviting yourself along for someone else’s vacation when you can’t pay your share and (presumably) pressuring others to pay is weird at best.

heyyyy. I'm the one who said he was probably pressured, I'm glad you talked with him. Think he'd be okay talking to them about it and maybe turning it back into a just the two of you thing?

I’m not against him bringing his mom or brother though I am worried about his finances, his mom can’t afford it and his brother doesn’t have a job due to just graduating undergrad so he’d be paying for both of them to go. I told him he needs to talk to them and figure something out if we want to make this trip work- it’s not fair to him to bankroll them both completely, traveling is not a luxury
