Like realistically, what does it affect?

Wait what? How is being concerned that the economy is so bad and community is so incredibly nonexistent nauseatingly misogynistic? I want people to be able to afford to have kids if they want to 😭 isn’t that what being pro choice is

Isn’t the whole reason those countries have that problem in the first place is because the work culture there is so toxic that people literally don’t have the time to start families? Sounds like they have all the information to fix it but would rather blame someone else.

That’s the case here, too? That’s not good…

It’s misogynistic in the way that all the blame is being put on women rather than anything being done to actually make it safe and affordable to have kids.

Yes blaming women is absolutely misogynistic but I don’t see how being concerned about an unsustainable birth rate is

It’s ok to be concerned but at the same time you have to acknowledge that the government is the only ones that can fix it atp. They’re the only ones that can amend or remove the abortion bans so that women can get medically necessary and potentially life saving procedures done without fear of jail time. They’re the only ones who can raise minimum wage. They’re the only ones that can lower the school shooting rates.

Oh yeah I’m a socialist and want capitalism to fail so that we can live in a livable communal society where we all take care of each other again. This isn’t anyone’s fault but capitalism

And that’s the point OP is trying to make. The ones who care about the birth rates (aka the ones who are acting like it’s their mission to fix it) are incredibly misogynistic because they put the blame on women rather than the government and capitalism. The rest of us are just waiting for them to realize that offering a single payment 5k for someone to produce a child isn’t enough incentive and they need to actually do something.

well I mean I want to fix it too by dismantling capitalism 😭 that wasn’t how I read the post. but yeah those telling women it’s their life mission to have more babies are weird af

Yeah but dismantling capitalism isn’t just caring about birth rates, it’s a whole slew of other things.

Yeah but are we doing that here? No, the best we got is a potential 5k after birth (which wouldn’t even cover the hospital bill). I’m not saying it’s an easy fix, I’m saying acting like it’s just a “have more babies” issue is misogynistic.

Yeah pretty much. I know they’re not really who we should be listening too but the lack of awareness in that statement is just mind boggling.
