We have a general loneliness epidemic in society due to the destructive influence of social media and men’s social expectations in this society discouraging the kinds of emotional intimacy with friends that is more common in women’s friendships has lead to them being disproportionately affected by that. It not because of people’s individual behavior that there is a loneliness epidemic, if it was just people being vile the vile people couple befriend each other and sort that out

Vile people would not befriend each other, just like narcissists wouldn’t befriend each other. They recognize bad behavior when it’s other people doing it, not when the issue is them. It’s a hypocrisy that keeps them lonely. And I know there’s a general loneliness epidemic but the male one is undoubtedly self inflect in the majority of cases.

And when you delve deeper into statistics like lack of romantic partners, you find that women more often choose/prefer to be alone vs men who aren’t lonely by choice. Imo the person who wants a relationship but can’t get that is lonelier than the person who’s happy being alone.

The loneliness epidemic isn’t about romantic partners!!! That is a complete misunderstanding of what is being talked about here. Going without a relationship is fine, going without friends is not.

I know the loneliness epidemic about platonic relationships. I specifically said “when delving into [other] statistics like lack of romantic partners”. I wasn’t claiming those stats are the same as the loneliness epidemic
