It’s also crazy how many people aren’t explicitly anti-homeless but heavily are implicitly anti-homeless. People will be shocked and/or even think we’re lying abt being homeless when we’re clean, well spoken, in school, etc

In elementary school, a teacher was talking about homelessness and how we need to be compassionate for the less fortunate and whatnot and I was just bewildered that she was sitting there acting like none of us were homeless??? I was actively living in a group shelter 😭

In middle school it was similar with being queer. Acting like no one in the class was gay or trans meanwhile like half of us were 😭 stop assuming that the group of people you’re speaking to is a monolith
