I think this modern day "femcel ideology" is a direct response to the perceived failures of 2010's feminism ("i can do what i want with my body" kind of thought), and what we were experiencing with modern day feminism is directly correlated to how men perceived this 2010's movement.

It's not uncommon for a woman to directly experience at least one man who believed that sex is something he deserved. there's an uproar in slut shaming while simultaneously expecting women to be sluts. Because of this men (as a social class) have successfully isolated themselves in the dating experience.

trying to find a man that genuinely respects you is extremely difficult and it's not because I as a woman do not deserve respect, and because you as a man do not think that I deserve it.
