the Ethel Cain drama has shown once again a lot of people just support trans women performatively. the second something kicks off they throw us out, and show that the gender they outwardly view us as is contingent on whether or not we're likable to them.

Ii think the reason you’re being downvoted is literally just for naming her. I posted something like “I really see how people don’t see trans people as their actual genders once they do something bad” and I was upvoted. Oh yeah, I’m just saying that I’ve seen your sentiment agreed with here. And I agree with you, even trans people who are bad people or have done bad things are still their gender. I’ve seen people in this situation go “racists don’t deserve respect.” Like yeah, but calling a trans person the right pronouns isn’t about respect, it’s just who they are. Seen as their gender, but it’s somehow diffrent for trans people, and just shows how cis people don’t actually see us as our genders, and only gender us properly if they like us, and the second they don’t, they stop, because they see calling us the right words as a curtesy, they’re playing along.
