can we PLEASE ditch the idea that all terfs are lesbians? please and thank you. And don’t even say most are because most lesbians are trans inclusive

I understand that— my problem is the conflation of lesbian to terf and terf to lesbian because overlap does NOT mean synonymous. Im trans fem and a lesbian and i have experienced similar things but it does not translate to “most lesbians are TERFs”. Statistically lesbians are the most trans inclusive too tbh

It’s an issue that exists and genuinely needs to be addressed without trying to shift the blame onto other members of the community. Instead of pretending it’s not a problem, we need to start taking accountability for it and actively work to combat it. Posts like this only serve to absolve people of guilt and allow TERFs to continue getting away with it.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone say most lesbians are TERFs and if it’s online no offense it really doesn’t count people say all their stupid ideas online

I have genuinely been told this before irl 😭 i get ur point but it IS a real stereotype about lesbians that i find offensive. I know lesbians can be and are terfs a good bit of the time but my problem wirh the conflation of terfism to lesbianism is it removes accountability from every other community: im not arguing against accountability if that makes sense

I really don’t think that’s a mainstream opinion, I think the underlying issue is you were offended and decided that because someone said it irl that it’s a mainstream opinion. I don’t think any other community gets away with it just because someone called lesbians TERFs. Gay men get chastised for it and basically every other minor infraction constantly on here so I know they aren’t getting away with it
