The issue isn’t people being able to obtain guns altogether. The issues are the fact that so many people, kids included, can get them without training, without safety knowledge, without deescalation practices, with unchecked mental health issues, and can get very powerful ones without a lot of barriers, either independently or because idiots leave them in the open and not secured. Be armed if you so desire, but the issue is the responsibility and the types available.
