Are you number 5 from the original post? It’s clear he was flipping the statement to convey the stupidity of thinking transness is a mental illness. He’s not claiming bigotry is actually aligned with mental health issues. It’s best practice to consider the audience he’s directing this statement at: actual people who consider both queerness and mental illness evil. It’s bad faith to paint him as some form of bigot.

Hatred is a form of mental sickness it literally infects the way you think and how you view people. Mental illness isn’t inherently bad but it can and does hurt people. Which is probably why he made that commentz

If your issue is the way the statement could promote the idea of mentally ill people being bad regardless of the intentions of the statement, I ask you to consider that most people that find the mentally ill to be lesser or bad are the ones he’s attacking so his words aren’t really gonna do anything. Additionally, Hasan Piker is a streamer in which many comments are live and unedited. Some things just come out wrong. Some grace rather than assuming ill intent would be best.

Pretty much. I’m hardly a ride or die for any political commentator. But the man is extremely progressive and angry at the proper things and for the right reasons (even if it’s worded in a way people find weird or tasteless sometimes). This is either A) someone that got into their feelings and can’t back down or B) the world’s smallest psyop. There are more important things than this.
