I don’t want to talk over you and the issues for masc amab nonbinary ppl, I’ll delete if you want me to, I just want to say I feel like there’s people who hate any nonbinary person who they don’t see as androgynous. Like they don’t think your “nonbinary enough” unless your somehow “passing as nonbinary” <- thing that isn’t real
OP here, unfortunately for reasons like this I have to integrate my pride flags into my outfits a lot to visually identify myself as NB / LGBT because I don’t “look the part” or don’t go far enough with it. It’s a sad and unfortunate reality where safe spaces that were made for us exclude us because they don’t see us for who we are
AFAB nb people who are very fem you mean? They definitely face problems too. But as an AMAB Masc-presenting nb bean, I feel like that AFAB person would have a better chance at not being entirely excluded from LGBTQ groups entirely. I know I know, it’s not the oppression olympics. Everyone has their own shit. But this is my perspective. I just wish people who would say “nb people don’t owe anyone androgyny” wouldn’t have double standards so often when it comes to masc and especially amab masc NB
It hurts all of us! The same attitudes keep AMAB NB’s from being accepted, and limit the expression / acceptance for other NB’s too! I know plenty of NB’s who are considered “basically a trans guy” because they act “too masculine”. This is a problem that affects all of us, some of us are hit more by it than others yes but it hurts all of us in some way!
idk, i think AMAB enby people get the brunt of it just due to the discomfort around men, but fem AFAB ppl definitely are also not seen as fully nonbinary in queer spaces as well. i’ve seen a lot of people that use they/she or just r ultra fem have their identity completely disregarded
